Rush Hat Weaving Workshop-January 2015
Medieval Re-enactors wove a rush hat for themselves in a very industrious one day workshop. Twined on hat blocks they made to measure of their own head dimensions. This hat is almost ready for the border and has been mostly paired with small sections of packing and a few rows of rib randing on the brim.
Marianne modelling her creation-the brim was to be trimmed next day when the rush had dried and rested. Great first time rush weaving.

Hi Trudi,
If you are local to Ely and want to organise a 1 to 1 workshop then please email me on elybasketmaker@gmail.com. I have Rush workshops organised for early Autumn at Wicken Fen Nature Reserve (booking through the National Trust) but not willow because of building my new workshop which won’t be ready until October. I will post workshops for 2019 in the Autumn.
Hope this helps, best wishes, Nadine.
